Okay! Yes! March is just around the corner and I’m telling you – something big is happening this month. All of this kicks off on the 28th of February – so I wanted to post this up in time for you start planning now! But here’s a quick break down: February 27th is the Dark Moon, the very next day February 28th, is not only a rare planet parade and constellation alignment that only happens once every 144 years, but it’s also the beginning of Ramadan and the end to the 2025 Prayag Maha Kumbh Mela celebrations in India. To kick March off, the 4th is Mardi Gras and the 5th is the beginning of Lent. This means that MANY religious observers in the world, and MANY spiritual practitioners of many kinds, will be engaged in some type of sacrificial practice during the entire month. This in of itself is VERY RARE, but here’s where things get even more synchronistic.

March 14th is a blood moon, meaning a lunar eclipse where the moon will appear red in color and on the same day Holi will be celebrated; the Hindu festival of spring. The Spring Equinox (Ostara) for western hemisphere is on the 20th. With Semana Santa is just around the corner, on the 29th there is a dark moon during a partial solar eclipse as Ramadan is ending. It’s an astrologically PACKED month.

There is political upheaval right now, and many people affected by these war-mongering decisions are going to be in deep sacrificial religious and spiritual practice. If you are a magical practitioner, this month needs your magic more than ever. Share your practice, share your love, share your compassion and empathy. Understand that many people will be fasting for Ramadan, giving up vices for Lent, and a plethora of other prayers and sacrifices. During this time there are huge stakes. More than war is being discussed casually on the nightly news, people are losing their lives, being locked away and disappeared. Our parents lived through similar times and they too made sacrifices. Be aware of these spiritual tides this month.

This is a strong time for magic. You are needed. Personally, I have been hearing and seeing many signs, from my dreams, to my meditations, to my astral travels. I included this imagery all over the calendar to help spark hope and creativity in your practice. Maybe one or more of these symbols will spark curiosity for you too! In episode five, we explored Brigid’s Mantle of Protection. We learned about the Brat Bríde, visited a secret underground museum and explored the esoteric meaning behind a triptych by Remedios Varo. The museum is a place you can go back to anytime you like, all you have to do is look at piece of art, imagine it in your mind’s eye and place it on the wall of the museum. The next episode will be our last in the series (for now {stay tuned}). We will explore the round towers of Ireland and end with a feast created just for Goddess Brigid.
